In just a few steps
to a picture straight at the wall without tilting
1. Mark screw position
Mark the position for the two screws where the cable hooks will later be attached (3x25). Ensure they are at the same height on both sides (approx. 50-80mm).
2. Screw in the screws for the rope hooks
Screw in the 3x25 screws at the markings, ensuring sufficient overhang (approx. 10 mm) so that the attached cable hooks do not protrude beyond the back of the picture.
3. Attach Bigfoot
Position the Bigfoot with the spacer underneath and secure it with two screws (3x12) on each side. Ensure that the nylon cable or rope later runs alongside the Bigfoot and not diagonally across the mounting area.
4. Align the rope hooks
Bring the cable hook to the desired height.
5. Attach the rope hook and hang the picture.
Attach the cable hooks to the screws on the back of the picture and hang it up.
6. Check alignment
The picture is now tilting forward away from the wall. Now check the horizontal alignment of the picture (is it hanging straight?), and adjust the cable length if necessary, before hanging the Bigfoot!
7. Attach the cable to the Bigfoot
Guide the cable, keeping it taut (!), between the Bigfoot and the picture and place it in one of the grooves. Use the same position on the other side. If the picture gapes away from the wall at the top, choose a groove in the direction of the big toe; if it gapes away from the wall at the bottom, choose a groove in the direction of the little toe.
8. Done
The picture hangs nice and flat on the wall.

Attaching Bigfoot to a metal frame | Installation instructions
1. Determine the position
Position the Bigfoot frame using spacers and mark the screw positions with a scribe or a suitable pen. Later, a screw must be driven through the frame into the underlying wood at these points.
2. Center-punch the drilling point
Mark the starting point for the drill bit with a center punch.
3. Check preparation
Result of the center punching at the previously marked position
4. Drill a through hole
Drill a through hole using a suitable steel drill bit. 4mm diameter recommended. Remove any burrs with a countersink or large drill bit.
5. Screw Bigfoot together
Insert the painting into the frame, position Bigfoot using spacers, and secure with suitable screws. The 3x12 screws supplied for standard applications are too short in this case; 3x20 screws must be used (not included in delivery).
Proceed with the further hanging as described in the standard instructions .
Hanging several pictures of the same format one above the other
1. Assemble the bottom picture as described in the Bigfoot instructions.
The bottom picture is installed exactly as described in the instructions included with Bigfoot. Hang it at the desired height using hooks and ropes and check that the picture is hanging straight. (See also the tutorial/installation instructions above for hanging Bigfoot.)
2. Attach Bigfoots to the bottom of the top pictures.
For pictures hung above them, a pair of Bigfoots is also attached to the bottom of the picture, as otherwise the tensioned rope would pull the upper pictures away from the wall at the bottom. The Bigfoots opposite each other between the pictures must be of identical size. Please bear in mind that the rope and the top pair of Bigfoots support the total weight of all the pictures!
3. Align Bigfoots at the top and bottom edges
Attach 2 pairs of Bigfoots to the top and bottom of the picture above. It is not necessary to attach cable hooks to this picture. Ideally, all Bigfoots on all pictures should be positioned exactly vertically above each other.
4. Position the upper image above the lower image
Position the upper picture above the lower picture as desired, taking into account the deflection length of the cable. With this type of hanging (without additional cable hooks), the upper picture must be held with one hand at all times to prevent it from falling down.
5. Seil in die Nut des Bigfoots einlegen
Hang the cable in the same groove as the lower Bigfoot.
6. Check the position of the pictures
Check position and adjust if necessary.
7. Fine adjustment via the cable
To make fine adjustments, lift the rope out of the Bigfoot groove and:
To lower the picture, push the rope slightly backward.
To raise the picture, pull the rope slightly forward.
8. Check the result of the assembly

9. Attach the cable to the top of the picture.
Now attach the cable to the upper Bigfoots in the picture.

Video tutorial: Hanging two pictures perfectly on top of each other
In this video, Jens shows you step by step how to use Bigfoot to hang two pictures on top of each other on two ropes and a gallery rail—without tilting forward. Just watch, follow along, and present your work professionally.
Use with ready-made frames is possible to a limited extent!
Video tutorial: How BIGFOOT works on prefabricated frames
Jens shows three ways in which ready-made frames can also be hung flush with the wall. The difficulty with ready-made frames lies in the profile width of the frame edge and the often shallow depth of the back of the picture. In some cases, the usage works only with open gallery rails.
Option 1: Installing the BIGFOOT on a prefabricated frame
1. Check the profile edge
The profile strip must be at least 10 mm wide and ideally made of wood. Install the Bigfoot using a screwdriver in accordance with the instructions for use.
2. Cable or rope hook check
Is it possible to conceal a hook on the back? Protruding hooks prevent the picture from lying flush against the wall.
a) If it is possible to hide a hook, then proceed with the standard installation as described above.
b) If only very flat hooks are possible, then continue with this installation variant.
c) Are all hooks too wide? Then continue with variant 2 or 3 (only possible with open gallery rails).
3. Use the pre-installed center hanger.
Use the pre-installed center picture hanger and very narrow hooks, e.g., “small picture hooks” from the Leha shop.
Tip: These are the narrowest rope hooks we have found. The hook can also be squeezed together slightly.
4. Hook the cables into the hooks.
Now attach the picture hooks to the ropes and hang the hooks on the central hanger.
The picture is hung on the two ropes hanging down. Works for any picture or gallery rail!
5. Thread the cables into the BIGFOOTs
When the picture is hanging straight on the wall (check with a spirit level), redirect the cables over the Bigfoots.
6. Done!
The picture hangs flush with the wall.
Option 2: Installing the BIGFOOT on a prefabricated frame
1. Check the profile edge
The profile strip must be at least 10 mm wide and ideally made of wood. Install the Bigfoot using a screwdriver in accordance with the instructions for use.
2. A long rope is attached to the S-hook.
Use only one very long cable for hanging. The cable is suspended with the cable loop in the S-hook on the open gallery rail.
3. Use the pre-installed center hanger.
We guide the cable coming from above into the central hanger.
4. Attach the hook to the cable
Mount the picture hook on the cable.
5. Hang up the picture
The cable is now hooked back into the rail using the second cable hook.
6. Hook the second cable hook into the rail.
The cable hook is not attached to the picture, but to the gallery rail. The length of the cable can also be adjusted from here.
7. Two different hooks
The picture hangs from one cable and two different hooks on the open gallery rail.
8. Thread the cables into the BIGFOOTs
When the picture is hanging straight on the wall (check with a spirit level), loop the rope over the Bigfoots on both sides.
9. Done!
The picture hangs flush with the wall.
Option 3: Installation of the BIGFOOT on a prefabricated frame
1. Check the profile edge
The profile strip must be at least 10 mm wide and ideally made of wood. Install the Bigfoot using a screwdriver in accordance with the instructions for use.
2. Mount cables on the back of the picture
Instead of cable hooks, we hang the cable loops on the screws to be mounted on the side.
3. Hang the rope loop on the screws.
The cable loops are hooked into the screws on the right and left sides of the back of the picture.
4. Attach the cable hooks to both ropes.
Each cable is equipped with a classic rope hook.
5. Hook both cable hooks into the open gallery rail.
The picture is now hung on the open gallery rail using both cable hooks.
6. Unusual hanging of two rope hooks
The picture hangs from two cables and two hooks on the open gallery rail. The picture can be finely adjusted in height as usual using the two cable hooks. The ropes can be hidden in the open gallery rail.
7. Thread the cables into the BIGFOOTs
When the picture is hanging straight on the wall (check with a spirit level), redirect the cable over the Bigfoots on both sides.
8. Done!
The picture hangs flush to the wall.
